Artist Profile: Sunshine Reeves
Bonecutters first started working with Sunshine Reeves in 1989. Sunshine would come to pick up his brother, silversmith David Reeves, and would stay and spend time in our shop. Eventually we gave him copper to practice stamping on and Sunshine really took to it. After learning on copper, Sunshine began to stamp small silver concho earrings for Bonecutters, and then moved on to larger concho style bolo ties and buckles. Sunshine eventually began to stamp on plain silver bracelets, which many consider to be his signature work, and many other unique pieces. Sunshine married and had a son they named Deleyne Dan Reeves. When Deleyne was a baby, Sunshine and his wife would bring him to the shop tied to cradle board. Deleyne is now a proud member of the United States Marines... amazing how time flies! As the years have gone by Sunshine has become very famous for his amazing silversmithing skills and has won numerous awards. In 1997 Sunshine won Best of Show at Santa Fe Indian Market for an amazing eight piece silver coffee set! Bonecutters is happy to say that we still work closely with Sunshine and are very proud to offer you a beautiful selection of his incredible jewelry!
